The Resources screen in eRS covers your resource directory, skills, capacity, and more. By connecting eRS MCP to Claude, ChatGPT, Microsoft Copilot Studio, or any other AI assistant you use, you can look up, filter, or update resource records in plain language, without opening eRS directly.
This article walks through a few prompts to get you started, including bulk updates like adding certificates or changing teams.
Note: eRS MCP has to be connected before your assistant can act on any of these. Not set up yet? Head to the setup guide first.
Best practices for prompting
- Be specific: Naming the resource, team, or date range gets a better answer than a broad question.
- Ask for a format: Saying "as a table" or "as a list" gives a cleaner answer, especially for something like a skill matrix.
- Anything that changes many records at once needs confirmation first: Read it carefully before approving, whether that's a certificate added for three people or a whole sheet of new resources.
- Treat AI answers as a starting point, not the final word: Double-check anything that feeds a staffing decision in eRS itself.
