The Projects screen in eRS covers project status, priority, timelines, and more. By connecting eRS MCP to Claude, ChatGPT, Microsoft Copilot Studio, or any other AI assistant you use, you can look up, update, or bulk-load projects in plain language, without opening eRS directly.
This article walks through a few prompts to get you started, including bulk edits like status changes and task additions.
Note: eRS MCP has to be connected before your assistant can act on any of these. Not set up yet? Head to the setup guide first.
Best practices for prompting
- Be specific: Naming the project, status, or date range gets a better answer than a broad question.
- Ask for a format: Saying "as a table" or "as a list" gives a cleaner answer.
- Anything that changes many records at once needs confirmation first: Read it carefully before approving, whether that's three projects moved to on hold or a whole sheet of new ones.
- Walk it through the usual steps: Naming tasks in the order you'd normally add them helps the assistant follow that same path instead of guessing at one.
1. List all the high-priority projects.
2. List projects starting next month.
3. List projects by status.
4. Mark Atlas Payroll Tax Audit, Vero Compliance Audit, and Crest SOX Audit on hold.
5. Add the following tasks to Pillar Finance Portal, Cobalt Mobile App, and Nexa CRM Upgrade:
- Requirements Gathering
- Code Review
- Bug Fixing
6. Add projects and tasks from this sheet.
7. Prepare a project dashboard.
