The Rates screen in eRS covers billing rates across resources, roles, and projects. By connecting eRS MCP to Claude, ChatGPT, Microsoft Copilot Studio, or any other AI assistant you use, you can look up, export, or update rates in plain language, without opening eRS directly.
This article walks through a few prompts to get you started, including bulk rate changes and updating billing rates. These aren't the only ways to ask, just a starting point to show what's possible.

Best practices for prompting
- Be specific: Naming the resource, role, or project gets a better answer than a broad question.
- Ask for a format: Saying "as a spreadsheet" or "as a matrix" gives you something ready to use, not just a summary.
- Anything that changes many records at once needs confirmation first: Rate changes touch billing directly, so read the preview carefully before approving.
- Treat AI answers as a starting point, not the final word: Double-check any rate going into a client invoice in eRS itself.
