The Timesheets screen in eRS covers logging, copying, and importing time entries across your team. By connecting eRS MCP to Claude, ChatGPT, Microsoft Copilot Studio, or any other AI assistant you use, you can enter, copy, import, or export timesheet entries in plain language, without opening eRS directly.
This article walks through a few prompts to get you started, including submitting timesheets for several people at once and exporting draft entries.
Note: eRS MCP has to be connected before your assistant can act on any of these. Not set up yet? Head to the setup guide first.
Best practices for prompting
- Be specific: Naming the resource, project, and week gets a better answer than a broad question.
- Walk it through the usual steps: Spelling out "4 hours every day this week" helps the assistant fill each day correctly instead of guessing at a split.
- Anything that changes many records at once needs confirmation first: Read it carefully before approving, whether that's entries for three people or a whole sheet of imports.
- Ask for a format: Saying "grouped by project" gives you an export that's actually usable, not just a flat list.
