The eResource Scheduler MCP server lets you work with your eRS data from ChatGPT on the web. Setup takes about 5 minutes: an eRS admin enables the MCP server once, then each user adds eRS to their own ChatGPT account.
Before You Start
You will need:
- An eRS administrator to turn on the MCP server (Part A). This is done once per account.
- Your own eRS login. ChatGPT signs in as you, so it can only see and do what your eRS access rights allow.
- A ChatGPT account that can turn on Developer mode and add custom MCP plugins.

Part A: Enable the MCP Server in eResource Scheduler (Admin, One Time)
Skip to Part B if your admin has already enabled it and shared the endpoint URL.
Step 1. Open Administration
Log in to eResource Scheduler. Click your name in the top-right corner, then click Administration.
Step 2. Turn on the MCP Server
In the left menu, under INTEGRATION, click MCP Server. Switch the toggle at the top right from Disabled to Enabled. By enabling it, you agree to the MCP Server terms in the Terms of Service.
Step 3. Copy the endpoint URL
Once enabled, the page shows the Endpoint URL: https://app.eresourcescheduler.cloud/mcp. Click the copy icon next to it. Share this URL with anyone in your team who will connect ChatGPT.
Part B: Add eResource Scheduler to ChatGPT (Each User)
Step 1. Open ChatGPT settings
Go to chatgpt.com and sign in. Click your name at the bottom left of the sidebar, then click Settings.
Step 2. Turn on Developer mode
In Settings, click Security and login. Scroll down to Developer mode and switch it on. ChatGPT needs Developer mode to add a custom MCP server. Close the Settings window.
Step 3. Start a new plugin
Click Plugins in the left sidebar. Click the + button next to the search box, then click Create plugin.
Step 4. Choose Create MCP App
In the New Plugin window, click Create MCP App at the bottom left. Do not upload a file.
Step 5. Enter the eRS connection details
Fill in the form:
| Field | What to enter |
|---|---|
| Name | eResource Scheduler |
| Description | Optional. Leave blank or add a short note. |
| Connection | Select Server URL, then paste https://app.eresourcescheduler.cloud/mcp
|
| Authentication | OAuth (the default). Leave Advanced OAuth settings as they are. |
Tick I understand and want to continue, then click Create.
Step 6. Sign in with eResource Scheduler
ChatGPT shows Add eResource Scheduler to ChatGPT. Click Sign in with eResource Scheduler. If you see a Connect button first, click it.
Step 7. Log in to your eRS account
The eRS login page opens. Enter your eRS Login ID and password and click Login. If your company uses single sign-on, click Single Sign On instead.
Step 8. Confirm the connection
You return to ChatGPT. On the Plugins page, open the Personal tab. eResource Scheduler now appears under Created by me, and its icon shows under Installed.
Start Using eRS in ChatGPT
Open a new chat and ask about your schedule in plain language. Mentioning "eResource Scheduler" in your first request helps ChatGPT pick the right plugin. Some prompts to try:
- "Using eResource Scheduler, show me who is booked on Project B next week."
- "What is the team's utilization this month by primary role?"
- "Which resources are free for 3 days next week?"
- "Book Grace Jonas on Project D at 50% from 5 to 9 October."
- "List timesheets waiting for my approval."

Troubleshooting
| Problem | What to do |
|---|---|
| No MCP Server option or endpoint URL in eRS | Only admins can see Administration. Ask your eRS admin to complete Part A. |
| Developer mode is missing in ChatGPT | Your ChatGPT plan or workspace admin may restrict it. Check with whoever manages your ChatGPT account. |
| Sign-in fails or the window closes | Allow pop-ups for chatgpt.com, then repeat Step 6. Check that the MCP server is still enabled in eRS. |
| ChatGPT says it can't see some data | ChatGPT has the same access rights as your eRS user. Ask your eRS admin to review your permissions. |
| You want to disconnect | In ChatGPT, go to Plugins → Personal, click ⋯ next to eResource Scheduler and remove it. An admin can also switch off the MCP server for everyone. |
